Title: Warehouse Associate
Report To: Warehouse Manager
Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate has a critical role responsible for maximizing workflow and efficiency within our production and warehouse environments. This position involves safe and efficient movement of finished goods including loading, unloading, sorting, and relocating items. The associate plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, staging orders for shipment, loading pallets and ensuring the smooth flow of finished goods to warehouse storage locations. A strong commitment to safety, organization, and adherence to operational guidelines is essential.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Inventory Integrity
- Remove finished products from production lines promptly to ensure efficient operation of the production area.
- Safely operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport finished goods.
- Accurately recording inventory levels and movements using warehouse management systems.
- Organizing and storing finished goods in designated locations within the warehouse.
Staging & Loading
- Responsible for locating and moving finished goods from warehouse bin locations to staging areas for shipment.
- Inspect the trailers prior to loading for damage, safety hazards and ensure favorable shipping environment to maintain product integrity.
- Inspect finished goods for any non-conforming product/pallets prior to loading.
- Load finished goods for shipment, ensuring accurate counts and alignment according to pick documents and BOL’s.
- Ensure finished goods are secure once loaded with load bars, air bags, straps etc.
- Record and photograph packed shipment/trailer.
- Obtain driver sign-off on outgoing shipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Operational
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks that are required for transporting, shipping, or moving materials.
- Perform daily forklift inspections prior to shift start and report any operational problems immediately to the Warehouse Manager.
- Efficiently relocate items within the warehouse or factory, optimizing space utilization.
- Track and maintain accurate inventory records of all incoming and outgoing items.
- Efficiently utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to accurately track inventory, process orders, and manage stock locations.
- Execute all inbound and outbound logistics tasks by strictly following procedures documented within the WMS to ensure accurate inventory control and shipment preparation.
- Supply production lines with the correct materials for daily production requirements in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned
Safety Compliance:
- Adheres to and follows Food Safety, Food Quality and SQF program requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and any other applicable standards.
- Follows all program guidelines for Halal and Kosher certifications.
- Follows plant GMP’s.
Education/Experience:
- Three plus (3+) years of progressively responsible warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid license or certification to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery relevant to the job are preferred.
- Basic Computer and math skills preferred.
